Accounts Payable & Expenses Job Description

The Accounts Payable function is responsible for processing invoices and issuing payments in a timely and efficient manner. The role involves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Paying vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit;
  • Audit and process payment vouchers for services received from sub-tier vendor companies.
  • Validate invoices of Service Providers and resolve discrepancies if any.
  • Prepare and analyze audit reports for services received from sub-tier vendors and payment reconciliation along with identifying reasons for delays in payments from grassroots level.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and documentation in accordance with company policies and accepted accounting practices.
  • Audit and process business-related expenses incurred by office staff employees in their normal day-to-day work.
  • Track deductions to be made from payments to vendors while releasing payments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; strong communication skills - written and oral.
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills evident in preparing accurate weekly and monthly reports within tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of general accounting procedures.
