Netapp Storage Administrator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Netapp storage administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in designing and implementing Netapp storage systems, managing DR replications, configuring and managing vfilers, fiber interconnect switches, and storage reporting tools.

  • The storage administrator will be responsible for designing and implementing Netapp storage systems, including procurement, installation, configuration, software upgrades, and storage provisioning.
  • The candidate will also add disk shelves to existing storage for standalone and high-availability controllers.
  • DR replication management via snapmirror is another key responsibility.
  • The storage administrator will configure and manage vfilers, fiber interconnect switches, and storage reporting tools.
  • Operational support for the File Serving/NAS Infrastructure within the organization will be provided by the candidate.
  • Data migrations using Robocopy will be planned and implemented.
  • An operational ticketing system will be used to record changes and work history details.
  • Disk, aggregate, Qtree, volume issues will be handled by the candidate.
  • Storage critical events will be checked regularly.
Requirements
  • A strong technical background and in-depth understanding of CMODE and CDOT & fabric switches are required.
  • Experience with software tools from NetApp (OCUM, OCI etc) is necessary.
  • An excellent understanding of CIFS - NFS technologies is expected.
  • Knowledge of enterprise process mapping tools and techniques, as well as industry good practice frameworks such as ITIL, Agile is desirable.
