This technical role is responsible for delivering high-quality IT infrastructure support to ensure the availability, stability, and performance of datacentres, platforms, and corporate systems.

Key responsibilities include:
  • AIX Server Management: Ensure seamless AIX server management, including hardware and software refreshes.
  • Storage Management: Manage SAN and storage array effectively.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement backup, replication, HA, and recovery technologies to ensure business continuity.
  • Security: Manage AIX server security to prevent unauthorized access and data loss.

This position falls under the Infrastructure department and reports directly to the Infrastructure Head. The team is responsible for administering and managing all development, UAT, pre-production, production, and DR environments as well as internal corporate IT systems.

Key objectives include:
  • Availability: Ensure uptime SLAs are met every month by resolving issues logs, performing scheduled maintenance, and managing third-party support contracts.
  • Performance: Monitor system performance, capacity, and growth, suggesting and implementing performance improvements and hardware/software refreshes.
  • Information Security: Ensure the network and systems are secure by following policies and procedures, documenting for audit purposes, and implementing security projects.
  • Business Continuity: Ensure FNZ-held data is secure and backed up by making regular backups, participating in yearly BCP & DR tests, and ensuring new builds meet company requirements and departmental policy.
  • Training: Develop professional and technical knowledge and skills, providing technical advice and mentoring within the team.
  • Project Work: Implement new projects to meet project timelines and deadlines, recommending changes to the IT manager to reduce costs.

Requirements include:
  • Degree qualified or equivalent industry certifications and experience.
  • AIX operating system administration skills.
  • Knowledge of automation scripting.
  • Keen interest in and knowledge of latest server and storage technologies.
  • Successfully implemented infrastructure projects.
  • Good team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
