Senior Database Developer Job Description

As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable databases to meet the needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop database structures that are efficient, reliable, and secure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of database solutions.
  • Create detailed ER diagrams to visualize complex data models.

Database Performance Optimization

  • Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to improve database performance.
  • Implement indexing strategies and query optimization techniques to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor database metrics and resolve problems proactively to maintain high uptime.

Database Administration and Maintenance

  • Manage backups, recovery plans, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure database security, access control, and data integrity through regular audits and testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.

Data Integration and ETL

  • Develop and maintain ETL processes for system-to-system integration and data warehousing.
  • Implement data integration solutions to support reporting and analytics requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 6–7 years of experience as a Database Developer (MySQL & MS SQL).
  • Expert-level SQL programming skills and knowledge of database design, data modeling, and normalization.
