We're seeking a skilled Instructional Design Associate to join our team at Lilly, where we make a difference for people around the globe by discovering, developing and delivering medicines that help them live longer, healthier, more active lives.

Responsibilities:

The Instructional Design Associate develops web-based, instructor-led, blended instruction, self-study, and virtual-session learning solutions within Lilly's Learning & Development technology environment.

This position is responsible for receiving learning objectives and other source content from Lilly business area L&D leads and subject matter experts (the internal "clients") and organizing the learning targets into a logical, instructional flow, appropriate for the culture and level of expertise of the end user/learner.

  • Revising or redeveloping learning solutions in response to feedback from the client
  • Assessing source content and proposing learning solution that includes accessibility
  • Identifying other recommended course revisions and partnering with the business client to identify needed changes
  • Defining learning objectives and instructional design documentation
  • Responding to client design needs including escalations and risk inquiries related to the design and client subject matter expert issues
  • Delivering quality projects on time, within budget
  • Uploading content to appropriate content infrastructure sites, L&D content repositories, and Learning Management Systems as needed
  • Supporting file naming, Lilly Branding and design guidelines in L&D content
  • Complying with all policies and standards
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • M.S. degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Performance Technology, Adult Learning, or related experience/education
  • Human Performance Improvement (HPI) Certification
  • 5 years experience as learning professional in regulated environment

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience with content authoring tools, such as Storyline, Rise, Vyond, Camtasia, WalkMe
  • Written and verbal English proficiency
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic thinking, leadership, and proactive strategic learning and development consultation
  • Experience with learning, development, and standard operating procedure based business processes
  • Experience implementing learning interventions to meet accessibility requirements (such as WCAG)
  • Experience managing translations in learning deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, judgment and managing ambiguity for effective results in complex, resource-constrained situations
  • Ability and willingness to challenge business leadership regarding ways to use learning interventions to most effectively meet business requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft tools, including Sharepoint, Teams and Forms
  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design, analysis, and evaluation
  • Ability to effectively partner globally
  • Ability to navigate complex, matrix-based organizations
  • Exchanges complex information and ideas effectively
  • Knowledge of companion systems used to execute common business and L&D processes (such as SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, Quality Docs)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Flexibility and creativity

  • Flexibility in schedule is necessary as needed to collaborate with business partners in multiple time zones
