Job Summary:

The Prototype Manager is a key role within Garrett - Advancing Motion, responsible for overseeing the development and manufacturing of new products. This position requires strong leadership and technical skills to manage a team of purchasing, planning, quality, and assembly technicians or engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate prototype operations, program management, quality, and SIOP to deliver all program commitments globally.
  • Develop and manage a base of prototype suppliers, ensuring strong coordination with other Engineering and site Sr Managers.
  • Manage prototype schedules, SIOP, MPS adherence, and attainment, as well as all aspects of safety and health.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive maintenance of prototype workshop equipment and analyze the capabilities of prototype workshops to ensure alignment with prototype requests.
  • Define capital requirements and ensure investments are made in line with budgets, anticipating the development of means and the introduction of new equipment to cope with new technologies.
  • Contribute to the site's and proto organization continuous improvement process by proposing and implementing Kaizen ideas.
  • Participate in the HSE and Energy Management System through the site's HSE and Energy policies and the site's annual commitments in terms of health, safety, environment, and energy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in either Mechanical Engineering or turbomachinery, or related work experience.
  • Proven experience 5+ years in Multiple National Companies.
  • Proven 5+ years people management experiences.
  • Demonstrated bias for action/initiative, customer focus, and a strong capability to lead in a team environment.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including ability to interpret data, define actions, and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge/experience in product development and program management, ability to understand engineering specifications, process instructions, test instructions.
  • Good knowledge on SAP ERP, data analysis, business intelligence tool.
  • Demonstrated English written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with individuals of all disciplines and levels.
