Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commis to join our team in the bakery kitchen.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing food and supporting the senior kitchen team in daily operations.

This role requires a focus on quality, hygiene, and safety standards, contributing to an efficient, high-quality kitchen environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate incoming bakery orders to plan shift operations efficiently.
  • Organize and execute mise en place for current and next shifts.
  • Coordinate with front-end and production teams to manage special/custom orders smoothly.
  • Prepare and maintain Raw Material Indent Charts.
  • Plan and delegate preparation tasks for the next shift.
  • Create and manage duty rosters for staff assigned to the shift.
  • Assist the Sous Chef in overseeing daily bakery kitchen operations.
  • Take charge of the bakery section in the absence of the Sous Chef.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a bakery or hotel kitchen environment.
  • Certification/Diploma in Bakery or Culinary Arts preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of bakery production processes, raw materials, and food safety standards.
  • Ability to lead a team and manage operations independently.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with HACCP and standard hygiene protocols.
