Database Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Database Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our database infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database systems.

Your primary focus will be on designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance database architectures that meet the needs of our applications.

You will work closely with our application teams to ensure seamless integration of our database systems and develop best practices for database security, backup, and recovery.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also provide guidance and support to our engineering teams on database-related matters.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-performance database architectures.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 4-8 years of experience running MySQL/PostgreSQL databases in large environments.
  • Awareness of Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the internals of MySQL/PostgreSQL and load balancing solutions such as ProxySQL.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Caching: Knowledge of caching solutions (Redis/ElastiCache).
  • Scripting Languages: Knowledge of scripting languages (Python).
  • Infrastructure Automation: Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform/Ansible).
  • DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
