Job Title:

About the Position:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud FinOps professional to drive financial accountability across cloud platforms, ensuring cost-efficient solutions without compromising on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Spend Management: Manage and analyze cloud spend across compute, storage, networking, and PaaS services.
  • Cost Optimization Strategies: Identify opportunities for cost optimization (rightsizing, auto-scaling, reserved instances, spot usage).
  • Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Partner with engineering, product, and platform teams to design efficient architectures.
  • Tagging Standards Enforcement: Define and enforce tagging standards for accurate cost allocation and chargeback.
  • Storage Lifecycle Policy Management: Manage storage lifecycle policies to optimize retention, archival, and tiering strategies.
  • Dashboard and Report Development: Build dashboards, alerts, and reports to improve cost visibility and accountability.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting Support: Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis of cloud spend.
  • Licensing and Reservation Optimization: Optimize licensing, reservations, and savings plans across cloud services.
  • FinOps Insights Provision: Provide regular FinOps insights to leadership on spend trends, risks, and savings wins.
  • Culture Promotion: Promote a FinOps-first culture by educating teams on cost awareness and best practices.
  • Compliance and Automation: Ensure compliance with governance, RBAC, security, and financial policies. Automate operational tasks through CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure Automation).
  • Documentation Maintenance: Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks for FinOps operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in FinOps: 3+ years of experience with FinOps in cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP acceptable).
  • Cloud-Native Services Understanding: Strong understanding of cloud-native services and cost management strategies.
  • SRE Experience: Experience in SRE/production support with SLAs and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira).
  • FinOps Tools Familiarity: Familiarity with FinOps tools and reporting platforms.
  • Power BI Proficiency: Proficiency in Power BI for cost dashboards.
  • CI/CD and Scripting Experience: Experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), and scripting (PowerShell).
  • Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • FinOps Certification: FinOps certified Professional.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Deployments Experience: Experience with Azure deployments.
  • Data Platform Knowledge: Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and incident response for data platforms.
  • Kubernetes Exposure: Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.

Education:

  • Computer Science Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Experience:

  • Cloud Engineering Experience: 5+ years in Cloud Engineering.
  • Troubleshooting and Collaboration: Proven ability to troubleshoot, communicate effectively, and collaborate in fast-paced environments.
