Seeking a seasoned database professional to manage our cloud-based Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of PostgreSQL databases while collaborating with DevOps teams, cloud engineers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect scalable solutions for PostgreSQL clusters in DBaaS using Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Optimize queries, indexing, and vacuum strategies; troubleshoot latency/issues using pgBadger and EXPLAIN ANALYZE
  • Implement replication, Patroni, repmgr, and PITR/WAL archiving for 24/7 uptime
  • Enforce encryption, RBAC, audit logging, and compliance with GDPR and HIPAA
  • Script provisioning, backups, scaling, and integration with CI/CD pipelines
  • Set up Prometheus/Grafana dashboards, configure alerts, and analyze logs with the ELK Stack
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA, 4+ years in DBaaS/cloud environments
Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL 12+, extensions (pg_partman, pgAudit)
  • Cloud platforms (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database, GCP Cloud SQL)
  • HA/DR tools (Patroni, repmgr, pgPool), backup tools (Barman, WAL-G)
  • Scripting (Python/Shell), IaC (Terraform, Ansible), monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PostgreSQL Certified Engineer, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, DevOps practices, and multi-cloud strategies
