Are you passionate about solving logical problems and working through challenging physics?

As a Physics Researcher, you'll test the reasoning capabilities of large language models, analyzing model responses and identifying gaps in logic or understanding.

What does this work entail?

You'll create complex physics problems, review how AI solves them, and share insights on its comprehension of abstract thinking and structured problem-solving. Your tasks may include:

  • Calculating the probability of high-energy particle decay within a certain distance from its origin.
  • Defining the last return time to zero and time spent on the positive axis as fractions of total time for 1D Brownian motion starting at the origin.
  • Finding the exact joint probability distribution of these scaled times, expressed using the Heaviside function.

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A PhD or Postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Excellent written communication skills, particularly in remote settings.
  • The ability to work independently, with stable computer and internet access.

Please note that this position is open only to candidates who have completed or are currently pursuing a PhD; applications without this qualification will not be considered.

Contract Details:

  • Commitments: At least 4 hours per day and 20 hours per week, with 4 hours of overlap with PST.
  • Engagement type: Contractor assignment/freelancer.
  • Duration: 1 month; expected start date is next week.
