Senior Observability Engineer

This is a contract position with a global technology leader. We are looking for an experienced Senior Observability Engineer with strong expertise in AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda) and Synthetic Monitoring to design and implement scalable observability platforms.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building cloud-based monitoring solutions, driving adoption of APM tooling, and embedding synthetic monitoring into modern service architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable synthetic monitoring platforms across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
  • Lead the adoption of Dynatrace APM with standardized instrumentation and deployment models.
  • Develop strategies for onboarding telemetry sources with a focus on synthetic monitoring.
  • Integrate observability tooling (Catchpoint, Dynatrace) to deliver unified insights.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and develop custom synthetic monitoring solutions where needed.
  • Contribute to open-source or internal observability tooling/standards for synthetic monitoring.
  • Drive documentation, training, and cross-team knowledge sharing to strengthen monitoring practices.
  • Collaborate with application teams to embed synthetic monitoring into new service architectures.
  • Partner with security teams on compliance, threat detection, and governance related to monitoring.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5–7 years of experience with Dynatrace and Synthetic Monitoring.
  • Strong expertise in AWS (EC2, EKS, Lambda).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing observability solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with other monitoring/observability tools (Catchpoint, Prometheus, Grafana) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.
