Cloud Storage Architect

The primary responsibility of a Cloud Storage Architect is to design, implement and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and services. This role focuses on the development, deployment and maintenance of highly available, scalable storage and container orchestration systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Implementation: Design, implement and maintain distributed storage systems including Ceph, ZFS and NFS for use across hybrid and cloud-native environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to storage, networking and container orchestration systems.
  • Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring, logging and alerting for infrastructure using tools like Prometheus.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with development and SRE teams to ensure seamless CI/CD and infrastructure reliability.
  • Documentation: Document architectural decisions, standard operating procedures and best practices.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
  • Proficient with Ceph (RADOS, RBD, CephFS) and ZFS administration.
  • Solid experience managing NFS servers and performance tuning.
  • Preferred knowledge of Kubernetes internals, networking and cluster lifecycle management.
  • Experience with container runtimes (Docker, containerd), Helm etc.
  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP or Azure) is a plus.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using the Rook-Ceph operator for Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of CSI storage drivers and volume provisioning in Kubernetes.
  • Certifications such as CKA, CKAD or RHCSA are a plus.

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering.

This role involves working with customer engineering teams on a wide variety of cloud projects including migration, containerization and transformation initiatives. Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI, ITAR etc.) is beneficial.
