Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned geologist with expertise in integrated interpretation, geo-modelling and well planning to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing comprehensive geological analyses, generating robust models and providing technical input for business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret stratigraphic, structural and coal seam correlations
  • Build and maintain static geo-cellular models incorporating available field data
  • Estimate resource and reserve volumes using PRMS guidelines
  • Generate alternate development scenarios considering various well types and spacings
  • Support Ops Geology teams during drilling operations and provide operational decisions as required
  • Provide technical input for business development plans
  • Acquire and integrate geological data to reduce uncertainty through enhanced field understanding
  • Support pre- and post-drill geo-mechanical analysis and dynamic simulation
  • Quality control of onsite and lab measurements on cores for coal characterization
  • Evaluate CBM data packages from regulatory bodies or prospective sellers
  • Review and quality control subsurface deliverables from third-party studies
  • Generate integrated subsurface descriptions and risk/uncertainty matrices

Requirements:

  • M.Sc / M.Tech or PhD in Geology
  • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in industry working on interpretation, geo-modelling, well planning and operations
