Job Title

UI Tester Role Overview:

  • This is a UI Tester position that involves testing the user interface of software applications.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Manual and Automated Testing: Execute tests to verify the user interface functions as intended across web, mobile, and/or desktop applications.
  • Design Validation: Ensure UI elements adhere to design specifications, style guides, and wireframes.
  • Testing Across Platforms: Test applications on various browsers and devices to ensure compatibility and responsiveness.
  • Bug Identification and Reporting: Log defects with clear descriptions, steps to reproduce, and screenshots/videos.
  • Usability Evaluation: Assess the user interface for ease of use, accessibility, and overall user experience.
  • Automation Development: Develop and maintain automated UI test scripts using tools like Selenium, Cypress, Appium, or TestComplete.
  • Collaboration: Work with designers, developers, and product managers to clarify requirements and provide feedback on design and functionality.
  • Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure new updates or features do not negatively impact existing UI functionality.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in UI testing, quality assurance, or a related role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in manual testing and familiarity with UI testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium, Postman). Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other front-end technologies to understand UI behavior. Experience with bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Bugzilla) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
  • Preferred Skills: Experience with automated testing frameworks. Knowledge of accessibility testing (e.g., WCAG, ARIA). Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Certifications like ISTQB Foundation Level or similar.
