IT Infrastructure Manager Job Overview

The role of IT Infrastructure Manager is pivotal to the organization's success, responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the organization's IT infrastructure.

As a key member of the team, you will oversee servers, networks, storage, cloud environments, and data centers, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

The Manager - IT Infrastructure will lead a team of infrastructure engineers, responsible for infrastructure strategy, cloud adoption, compliance, disaster recovery, vendor management, and more.

  • Infrastructure Strategy & Planning:
  • Define and execute infrastructure strategies aligned with business goals and scalability needs.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  • Manage hybrid environments (e.g. Nutanix, cloud migrations) with cost optimization.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Implement infrastructure security best practices and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor infrastructure engineers and support staff; assign tasks, monitor performance, and enable growth.
  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
  • Design, implement, and test DR and business continuity plans.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
  • Oversee proactive monitoring of systems and networks; resolve incidents with minimal downtime.
  • Vendor & Budget Management:
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and infrastructure budgets; recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed system/process documentation and prepare reports on infrastructure health and KPIs.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in IT infrastructure management, leadership skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management or equivalent roles, and proven expertise in network, systems, and cloud infrastructure.
