Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our team of software engineers in delivering high-quality products. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Linux and Ubuntu systems, with a passion for exceptional leadership.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, estimation, and execution of projects, as well as working closely with product management to define the vision and strategy for Ubuntu. They will also collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams to drive the advancement and adoption of the latest software development practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with Linux distributions and packaging technologies (e.g. deb, rpm)
  • Proven track record of managing or leading teams of software engineers
  • High quality software engineering knowledge in one or more of: Linux system architecture, boot process, Java/GCC/Python/Rust/Go toolchains, ARM and/or RISC-V
  • Engagement with open source communities and processes
