SDET Lead Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Lead to join our QA team.

As an emerging global B2B SaaS firm, we aim to fully automate financial operations for enterprises.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, self-motivated, and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership in their work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating and designing application testing processes
  • Developing automated testing and problem-solving of various tasks within the development process
  • Advising best practices and optimisations throughout testing and bug-fixing processes
  • Collaborating with fellow engineering leads to develop test plans and create extensive test cases
  • Leading and mentoring a team of QA engineers, fostering collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement in testing practices

The successful candidate will possess:

  • 8+ years of proven experience as an SDET Lead / Automation Engineer, specialising in test automation frameworks within the JavaScript ecosystem
  • Strong hands-on skills in designing, building, and maintaining robust automation frameworks, with a deep understanding of software testing principles, debugging, and defect reporting
  • Proficient in automated testing (including Playwright with JavaScript) and experienced in writing and maintaining automated test cases as part of comprehensive test suites
  • Leadership background in mentoring, guiding, and uplifting automation engineers to ensure best practices and high-quality delivery
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
