High-Level Data Analyst Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst to join our data team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our master data set, developing reports, and troubleshooting data issues.

To excel in this role, you need a keen eye for detail, extensive experience as a data analyst, and a deep understanding of popular data analysis tools and databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Master Data Management: Create, update, and delete master data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • User Management: Manage user access and permissions to maintain data security.
  • Quality Assurance: Verify the quality of imported data and collaborate with quality assurance analysts if necessary.
  • Data Set Commissioning and Decommissioning: Oversee the creation and decommissioning of data sets to meet business needs.
  • Confidential Data Processing: Process confidential data and information according to established guidelines.
  • Reporting Development: Assist in developing reports and analyses to support business decision-making.
  • Reporting Environment Management: Design and manage the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
  • Data Warehouse Support: Collaborate with the data warehouse team to identify and revise reporting requirements.
  • Data Integrity and Normalization: Contribute to initiatives that enhance data integrity and normalization.
  • Software Assessment and Implementation: Evaluate new or upgraded software and assist with strategic decisions on system implementation.
  • Report Generation: Generate reports from single or multiple systems to provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Database Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues with the reporting database environment and reports.
  • Change Evaluation: Assess changes and updates to source production systems.
  • End-User Training: Train end-users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an accredited university or college.
  • Significant work experience as a Data Analyst or in a related field.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to identify potential risks.
  • Capacity to analyze existing tools and databases and recommend software solutions.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language.
  • Expertise in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large datasets and relational databases.
  • Understanding of addressing and metadata standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
