BIS Consultant Job Description

The role of a BIS Consultant is crucial in guiding clients through the ISI Mark Scheme under the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The consultant will assist manufacturers and importers of products to ensure compliance with BIS standards, providing expert assistance in registration, documentation, product testing, and certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide clients on BIS Certification requirements.
  • Identify applicable BIS standards and categories for client products.
  • Facilitate preparation and submission of the BIS application and required documentation.
  • Coordinate with BIS-recognized laboratories for product testing and obtain test reports.
  • Ensure products meet technical standards for performance and safety as required by BIS regulations.
  • Act as primary point of contact between clients and BIS officials to expedite certification.
  • Track application status, ensuring timely follow-up and approval.
  • Advise clients on testing and post-certification compliance.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients in maintaining compliance, managing renewals, and addressing regulatory concerns.
  • Stay updated with changes in BIS regulations, especially for products under the ISI Mark Scheme-1.

Qualifications:

  • BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 0-2 years of working experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BIS standards under the ISI Mark Scheme-1.
  • Knowledge of BIS portal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
