Master Data Governance Expert
  • Solution Design & Implementation: Develop and manage end-to-end master data governance solutions using SAP MDG, ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules.
  • Requirement Analysis: Collaborate closely with clients to understand business requirements, identify master data challenges, and propose process improvements related to data governance.
  • Configuration & Customization: Configure and customize SAP MDG components, including data models, UI components, workflow management, data validation rules, and data replication.
  • Data Governance Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive master data governance strategies, including defining data ownership, stewardship, policies, and processes to maintain data quality and compliance.
  • System Integration: Ensure smooth integration of SAP MDG with SAP and non-SAP systems for data consistency across the enterprise, leveraging middleware tools and APIs where necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving master data management processes, enhancing data quality, and reducing data duplication, errors, and inefficiencies.
  • Data Quality & Reporting: Implement and monitor data quality rules, validations, and reporting frameworks to track and improve data quality metrics.
  • Testing & Validation: Lead testing efforts, including system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and performance testing to ensure that the SAP MDG solution meets business requirements.
  • Training & Support: Provide training to business users and internal teams on SAP MDG best practices, functionality, and usage. Provide post-implementation support, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Documentation: Develop comprehensive documentation for SAP MDG configurations, processes, and workflows to ensure proper system knowledge transfer and future reference.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on new SAP MDG features and updates, incorporating best practices and new functionalities into solution designs.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP MDG implementation and configuration.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, and integration with other SAP modules like SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP FICO, etc.
  • Experience with SAP Data Models, Business Rules Framework (BRF+), and SAP MDG workflows.
  • Familiarity with data quality management, data governance principles, and tools.
  • Understanding of SAP GTS (Global Trade Services) and its integration with SAP MDG is a plus.
  • Experience in data migration and data mapping from legacy systems to SAP MDG solutions.
  • Strong understanding of business processes related to master data management, such as material master, customer master, vendor master, and finance data.
  • SAP MDG Certification is a plus.

  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of SAP MDG configuration and related components, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess data management needs and design optimal solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Experience leading SAP MDG projects and mentoring junior consultants in both technical and business aspects.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including functional consultants, business analysts, and IT teams.
  • Customer-Focused: Ability to engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality solutions that meet business goals.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with SAP Fiori and UI5 for creating user-friendly interfaces for master data governance processes.
  • Familiarity with SAP Cloud Platform and integration with cloud-based MDG solutions.
  • Experience in industries such as Manufacturing, Retail, Consumer Goods, or Pharmaceuticals.
  • Knowledge of data migration tools such as SAP LT (Landscape Transformation) or SAP Data Services.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management practices.
