About the role:

We are seeking a talented Engineering Manager to lead our engineering teams and drive innovation in operational systems, cutting-edge hardware, and open source technologies.

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding developer with a passion for Linux and operational systems software. They should have excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to travel occasionally.

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven individual who can shape the direction, focus, and delivery of our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers
  • Oversee commercial engagements and support timely delivery on agreed project milestones
  • Participate as technical lead on complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge
  • Implement disciplined engineering processes
  • Integrate and maintain platform-oriented software stacks
  • Optimize Ubuntu for latest hardware platforms

Requirements:

  • Fluency in C, C++, and Python
  • Experience with Debian/Ubuntu or other distro packaging
  • Passion for Linux and operational systems software (e.g. kernel, virtualization stacks, graphics or Yocto)
  • Experience working with open source communities and licenses
  • Experience managing software engineering teams
  • Experience working with customers
  • Professional written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability

  • Display technical leadership internally and within our external communities
  • Contribute to code reviews and technical documentation
  • Be an active part of the leadership team, collaborating with other leaders
