Job Title

A highly skilled professional is required for the position of Technical Superintendent.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical operations and management, with a proven track record of ensuring vessel seaworthiness and compliance with international regulations.

  1. Key Responsibilities:
  2. Oversee day-to-day technical operations to ensure vessels are seaworthy and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  3. Monitor and analyze performance reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  4. Manage fuel consumption and operating costs, implementing efficiency improvements where possible.
  5. Ensure validity of all certifications and documentation, liaising with classification societies and flag authorities as necessary.
  6. Coordinate procurement of spares and critical equipment, selecting cost-effective options whenever possible.
  7. Plan and supervise dry-docking, repairs, and technical projects, including upgrades and retrofits.
  8. Support onboard crew with technical guidance and training, including new equipment installation.
  9. Conduct periodic physical inspections of vessels to assess condition and compliance with IMS standards.
  10. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions, proposing improvements to procedures and manuals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 10-12 years' experience in the shipping industry, with at least 2 years sailing experience as a Chief Engineer.
  • Preferably at least 2 years' shore experience as a Superintendent.
  • Strong understanding of TMSA and Rightship requirements, with experience working on cranes and grabs (for bulk carriers).
  • Experience working on ME engines is preferred.
  • Promote a strong safety culture onboard and in technical operations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental protection measures and fuel efficiency initiatives.
