Job Summary:

The role of a Senior Database Administrator is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide user support and training, resolving database-related problems, conducting periodic health checks on DBs, and formulating new requirements based on input from implementation and support teams.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding new patches for DBs and applications, new requirements, and bugs within specified timelines.
  • Provide technical training to peers and subordinates within the IT department.
  • Test product patches released by vendors, track issues until closure, and provide go-live support post-deployment of new features.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel across locations on short-term or long-term basis.
  • Healthcare knowledge is desirable.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of Oracle database architecture, cloning, patching, and upgrade.
  • Expertise in installation/troubleshooting/monitoring of Oracle Golden Gate - 11g bidirectional replication.
  • Experience with production-critical/multi-terabyte Oracle Databases - 11g/10g administration, monitoring, proactive health check of the database.
  • Knowledge in database backup/recovery including Hot Backup, Cold Backup, and RMAN.
  • Experience in SQL query tuning and database performance analysis.
  • Administration of oracle partitioned tables and their maintenance.
  • Administration of Oracle Application Server / Oracle Forms & Reports Server - 10g/11g along with Oracle WebLogic Server 11g.
  • Expertise in Disaster recovery strategies for production/non-production databases.
  • Experienced in packages and tools like SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, Oracle RMAN, OEM, OUI, DBCA, NETCA etc.
  • Proficiency in Security administration like auditing, creating users, roles, profiles, assigning object level and column level grants, controlling users access to system resources.
  • Basic UNIX shell commands and scripting.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of Sql server database architecture along with administration, patching, and upgrade.
