Data Engineering Lead

About the Role:

At our company, we are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the development of our data pipelines and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing complex data architectures using cutting-edge technologies such as Spark, PySpark, and SQL.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Spark and PySpark.
  • Develop and maintain large-scale data processing systems using SQL and Spark.
  • Lead a team of data engineers in the design, implementation, and optimization of data architecture.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to integrate AI/ML models into production.
  • Ensure high-quality, scalable, and performant data pipelines that meet business requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in Python, Spark, and PySpark.
  • Hands-on experience with Spark SQL, DataFrames, UDFs, DAG execution, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in Airflow/Prefect for scheduling and orchestration.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data storage systems (HDFS, S3).
  • Exposure to testing and CI/CD for data pipelines (pytest, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
