  • 6+ years of experience as a mechanical design engineer, preferably from fire products design.
  • Must have at least 6 years of experience in product design.
  • Creating concepts, mechanisms, coordinating prototypes, FOT approvals, and production process awareness.
  • Component lifecycle management exposure.
  • Proficient in injection molding design, sheet metal designs, and castings.
  • Good knowledge of plastic material selection criteria and application knowledge.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on expertise in 3D modeling using Solidworks or Creo.
  • FEM simulation (static) experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in GD&T applications.
  • Process knowledge of ECN/ECR and SAP PDM.
  • Experience in pneumatics and fluid dynamics preferred.
  • Strong understanding of first principles and fundamentals.
  • Mold and tooling design knowledge preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Create innovative mechanical design concepts and mechanisms.
  2. Develop prototypes, obtain FOT approvals, and ensure production process awareness.
  3. Manage component lifecycles and maintain related documentation.
  4. Design and develop products using injection molding, sheet metal, and casting techniques.
  5. Analyze plastic material properties and apply knowledge to optimize product performance.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive manufacturing excellence.
  7. Utilize 3D modeling software (Solidworks or Creo) for design and analysis.
  8. Evaluate and implement Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations for static analysis.
  9. Apply GD&T principles and practices to ensure product quality.
  10. Support ECN/ECR and SAP PDM processes to streamline design and development.
  11. Pursue opportunities to enhance skills in pneumatics and fluid dynamics.
  12. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to inform design decisions.
