Job Role:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Senior Associate in the field of financial valuation.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for valuing businesses, business interests, and intangible assets for financial reporting purposes.
  • They will analyze historical financial and operating results of target companies to explain business trends and identify risks.
  • Additionally, they will challenge assumptions related to future financial projections and assist in the development of discount rates (WACC, IRR, WARA, etc.).
  • The ideal candidate will also conduct financial statement analysis (e.g., common size analysis, ratio analysis, trend analysis, and industry comparative analysis).
  • They will perform market/industry research and develop industry growth estimates.
  • Furthermore, they will construct and review valuation and other financial models.
  • The selected candidate will also assist with the design and preparation of valuation reports and other client deliverables.
  • Finally, they will present analyses and conclusions to internal management and external clients, their boards of directors, and to fiduciaries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Advanced degree and/or certifications such as MBA, CA, or CFA would be preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have minimum 2+ years of demonstrated experience performing work related to fair value of debt, equity, purchase price allocation, and/or goodwill impairments in a public accounting, consulting, or investment banking environment.
  • They will have a fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, experience in traditional valuation methods such as discounted cash flow method, guideline public company method, and guidance transaction method.
  • Experience in valuing contingent consideration and valuation for mergers & acquisitions, and other transactions is necessary.
  • They will also have experience in building, analyzing, and reviewing financial models for high-level decision-making.
  • Comprehensive experience with financial databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, and other high-level tools is required.
  • The ideal candidate will have a track record of managing multiple high-stakes projects and delivering under tight deadlines.
  • Functional understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations is essential.
  • Demonstrated technical skills working with financial models in Excel is necessary.
  • Ability to travel and flexibility to work from home are desirable.
