Senior Backend Engineer Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Golang and experience in Ruby to design, develop, and operate high-performance backend systems.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will contribute to architecture, development, and operations of mission-critical services.

Responsibilities include designing scalable backend services and APIs using Golang, contributing to service-oriented/microservices backend evolution, writing clean, testable, efficient code with quality emphasis, collaborating with product managers, frontend engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact features, improving performance, monitoring, observability of backend services, participating in design discussions, code reviews, technical planning, and troubleshooting and resolving production issues with reliability focus.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years software engineering experience in high-scale backend systems.
  • Strong Golang proficiency required, Ruby or Ruby on Rails experience beneficial.
  • Solid computer science foundation — algorithms, data structures, system design.
  • Proven experience building distributed systems, APIs, backend platforms in production environment.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, monitoring tools, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced agile environment with collaborative mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and passion for building high-quality software.
