Data Center Construction Director

About the Role:

As a Data Center Construction Director, you will oversee large-scale data center construction projects from design to commissioning. This involves ensuring timely completion, high quality, and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project development including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Oversee site activities, ensuring compliance with construction plans, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to align project objectives.
  • Monitor project performance and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare regular project status reports to stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies on-site.
  • Lead teams of construction managers, engineers, and site supervisors, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in construction processes and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience managing large-scale data center or critical facility construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure systems.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency with project management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with sustainable construction and green building practices.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
