Job Role

We are looking for a skilled Mobile Application Developer to join our team in creating a cutting-edge virtual fencing solution for livestock management.

The system utilizes Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) instead of traditional electric shocks, offering a precise, cost-effective, and humane approach. It's designed for easy deployment, operates without expensive base stations, and transmits health and location data directly to a cloud backend and mobile app.

This role involves collaborating with the company founders, product team, and API engineers to develop a mobile application that efficiently manages and monitors herds.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with the product team and farming partners to understand their needs and build an app that meets those requirements.
  • Maintaining high engineering and coding standards.

Key Details

  • You can work remotely from anywhere with an overlap of at least four hours with the product team (6 pm to 10 pm IST)
  • This role involves participating in calls with US-based stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in building mobile apps using React Native.
  • Proficient in the Typescript ecosystem, including monorepos.
  • Familiarity with interface guidelines for Apple and Android apps.
  • Experience submitting apps on the App Store and the Play Store.
  • Able to debug and optimize complex systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus points if you have

  • Familiarity with mapping libraries in React Native or Native frameworks.
  • Understanding of native iOS and Android ecosystems.
  • Good knowledge of UX best practices for SaaS based interfaces & AI.
  • Contributed to open-source projects.

Work Plan

You will focus on developing a mobile app that allows farmers to see their farm map with multiple layers and annotations.

Key Features Include

  • Create virtual polygons to plot the region for their farms on the map.
  • Annotate the polygons with points of interest.
  • Generate heat maps of the farm livestock activity.
  • Integrate with APIs to let farmers view their livestock on the map.
