Backend Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Backend Engineer to join our team as an offshore consultant.

Your primary responsibility will be to deconstruct legacy .NET code that handles crucial integrations with our platform and re-implement it as resilient, scalable, and cloud-native Java services.

You will be instrumental in modernizing our event-handling stack, moving away from a central .NET message broker to a distributed system built on Google Cloud Platform.

The ideal candidate is a proactive engineer who thrives on understanding complex systems, takes full ownership of their work from development to production, and is excited to leverage modern tools, including AI, to accelerate our migration efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design & Develop: Architect, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable Java Spring Boot microservices.
  • Legacl Code Migration: Analyze existing .NET code that integrates with our loan servicing platform, understand its business logic, and lead its migration to the new Java stack.
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Decommission our legacy .NET message broker and implement a modern event-driven system using cloud-native technologies like Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
  • Cloud-Native Solutions: Build and deploy services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, including Cloud Functions, Spanner, and Firestore.
  • Code Quality & Deployment: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Own the entire development lifecycle, demonstrating confidence in taking features to production through a robust CI/CD pipeline.
  • System Analysis: Go beyond the user story to develop a deep understanding of the entire system, identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
