Logistics Operations Specialist

Purpose of the Role:

The Logistics Operations Specialist will oversee end-to-end logistics operations across a designated cluster, focusing on efficient and cost-effective solutions.

  • Develop and manage logistics strategies to ensure customer-centric operations.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, optimize infrastructure, and ensure regulatory compliance within all cluster depots and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Cluster Logistics Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day logistics operations for the cluster, ensuring alignment with company standards and operational goals.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to create and implement strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing logistics performance.

KPI Establishment and Monitoring:

  • Develop, monitor, and report on key logistics KPIs, including order vs execution rate, turnaround time (TAT), on-time in full (OTIF) metrics, and customer service levels.
  • Use data-driven insights to improve process efficiencies and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Inventory Replenishment:

  • Implement and manage push and pull replenishment models based on seasonal demand, customer requirements, and inventory flow goals.
  • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to maintain optimal stock levels.

Infrastructure and Seasonal Planning:

  • Plan and oversee infrastructure setup at plants and depots to meet seasonal demands and peak operational periods.
  • Ensure logistics infrastructure is prepared to support seamless operations during high-demand seasons.

Depot Operations and Efficiency Management:

  • Manage depot operations to achieve high levels of efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and optimize depot layout, storage capacity, and process flows to reduce turnaround times and improve space utilization.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance product freshness and minimize stock losses.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all depots within the cluster adhere to local and national regulatory standards, including safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Regularly conduct compliance audits and implement corrective measures when needed.

Transportation Management:

  • Assess and manage vendor partnerships for transportation, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery solutions.
  • Oversee transportation execution from depots to customers, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and OTIF metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for transportation routes, scheduling, and vendor performance.

Cost Management:

  • Drive cost-efficiency strategies across all logistics functions within the cluster.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations, with a strong background in depot/warehouse management and transportation.
