Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our team in the capacity of Global Application Monitor.

This role involves taking proactive measures to maintain globally deployed web applications and ensuring they operate at optimal levels.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with microservices, cloud services preferably AWS, and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

A strong understanding of metrics forward thinking and operational metrics like Quantiles and P99 is required for this position.

Additionally, excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive Monitoring: Regularly monitor and maintain our globally deployed web applications to ensure their performance and availability.
  • Kubernetes Expertise: Work with microservices that run on a Kubernetes background.
  • Dashboards and Metrics: Create and interpret dashboards in Grafana to effectively manage incident communication.
  • Metric Analysis: Apply metrics forward thinking and understand observability tools like Prometheus.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with customers and incident commanders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Cloud Services: Experience working with cloud services, preferably AWS.
  • Microservices Expertise: Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Observability Tools: Proficiency in observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Metric Forward Thinking: Ability to apply metrics forward thinking and understand operational metrics like Quantiles and P99.
