Product Development Specialist

The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of continuous galvanizing and cold rolling processes, as well as knowledge of critical to quality process parameters of Al-Si, HRPO, Magnelis products and their impact on product quality and mechanical properties.

  • Develop and implement effective work culture through sound safety practices.
  • Implement customer specific requirements across plant for value added products like Al-Si, HRPO, Magnelis.
  • Plan and manage trial material volume for CRM#2 automotive complex.
  • Schedule and monitor product trials at CGL#4/CGAL/PLTCM.
  • Define metallurgical route for Al-Si, HRPO, Magnelis product from steel making to Final Goods.
  • Validate Al-Si, HRPO, Magnelis product at various processes.
  • Compile trial results from steel making to final goods (process parameters and product properties) and submit to customers.
  • Plan and track approval samples, prepare for internal tracking and follow up with customers post dispatch.
  • Validate Homologation process.
  • Follow New Product validation process P0-1-2.
  • Study feasibility of process lines expansion.
  • Collaborate with parent companies (AM & NSC) for trials material designing and process parameter mapping.
  • Follow up with Operation and supply chain for trials.
  • Validate trial protocol.
  • Maintain GI TDC and Grade mapping in system.
  • Participate in Product and process control plan and FMEA development.
  • Prepare APQP documents.
  • Witness various trials at various processes.
  • Implement heat cycle and key process parameters for Al-Si, HRPO, Magnelis product.
  • Prepare new product processing protocols for Al-Si, HRPO, Magnelis product.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrate expertise in Automotive Al-Si, HRPO, Magnelis product stabilization.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of product approval and homologation process of various automotive OEMs.
  • Understand various automotive grades and their chemical elements and applications, as well as the impact of properties and process parameters during product end applications.
  • Hold in-depth knowledge of various chemical elements and their implications in product characteristics and final application performance.
  • Participate in Control Plan and FMEA development for various processes as per ISO 16949:2016 standards.
  • Show basic knowledge of 7 QC tools, Statistical Tools for data analysis, DMAIC, Quality Circle Projects, MSA, KAIZEN, 5S, Poka-Yoke and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Monitor and control Homologation KPIs like number of products developed, number of grades sample submission, grade development time, homologation time etc.
  • Hold in-depth knowledge of Quality Management System processes and product audits with respect to certifications like ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and BIS.
  • Preferable Systems Knowledge: Product and process simulation software, SAP (QM/PP module), Tableau, Power BI, Mini Tab, Manufacturing Execution System, MS Office especially Advance Excel and Power point.
