Job Overview

The Sr. Learning Technologist will be responsible for managing and maintaining VGO's global training platform, which includes establishing and testing content, overseeing user accounts, partnering with customers and vendors, managing system enhancements, and troubleshooting issues. This role will help establish a Governance Advisory Council and serve as a liaison between end users and the LMS system. This role may also mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage LMS functions, including system monitoring, data management, maintenance of system parameters, management of user roles, and interface with integration vendors.
  • Oversee the creation, editing, and retirement of training items and curricula in the LMS. Edit and link training materials to ensure availability to users via the LMS File and maintain training records for easy retrieval.
  • Serve as the LMS project manager and troubleshooter for user interface issues, navigation challenges, and other obstacles related to the system. Provide technical support and training to users.
  • Generate metrics, reporting, and trends as determined by the business and communicate as appropriate.
  • Work with internal teams and vendors to automate various processes and tasks within the learning environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the LMS meets the needs of our organization.

Primary Interactions

Internal: Regular contact with Corporate & Plant/Warehouse Employees, Sellers, Marketing, Product, Identity and Access Management, Global Brand Equity & Digital, IT, EH&S, Organizational Development, Supply Chain teams.

External: Channel Partners, Customers, Vendors, & Content providers.

Education

Bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in applicable fields of study, such as Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Training/Education, Technical Writing (or a related field).

Work Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in LMS/LXP Administration required.

Preferred: Minimum 4 years eLearning authoring tools, multimedia tools, and data evaluation experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of user roles/privileges, common problems, functional implementations, maintenance, and reporting/visualizations.
  • Advanced knowledge of eLearning standards, including SCORM, AICC, and xAPI.
  • Advanced technical skills and ability to troubleshoot issues and conceptualize creative solutions.
  • Ability to influence peers and leaders when presenting solutions and recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning, instructional design theory, and performance improvement models.
  • Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and fact-based decision-making abilities.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple, complex projects with tight timeframes in a matrixed environment.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new information and processes quickly.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Expert in use of Microsoft Office Suite PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
  • Experience with remote training using asynchronous meeting tools.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
  • Position may be remote with travel to corporate office or other locations within the organizational footprint.
