Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Cost Optimization Strategies

  • Analyze cloud computing and IT expenditure trends to identify areas of inefficiency and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Establish and enforce controls over cloud usage and expenditures to ensure effective budget management.
  • Develop and implement forecasting models to predict future cloud usage costs.

Cloud Resource Optimization

  • Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to design resource allocation strategies that minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud consumption metrics to ensure optimal utilization and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend rightsizing, reserved instance purchases, and other cost-saving measures to reduce cloud expenses.

Reporting and Insights

  • Generate detailed financial reports and dashboards to provide stakeholders with actionable insights into cloud usage and costs.
  • Provide leadership and stakeholders with strategic recommendations to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure accurate chargeback and showback models are in place to facilitate transparent cost allocation.

Collaboration and Governance

  • Partner with procurement teams to negotiate vendor contracts and optimize supply chain management.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop cost-efficient architectures that support business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain FinOps best practices, standards, and policies to ensure consistent application across the organization.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to financial operations.
