Payables Leadership Role

The Payables Manager is accountable for spearheading the accounts payable function, overseeing vendor payments, team operations, process improvement, and compliance to ensure robust financial performance and accurate records.

This strategic role necessitates a seasoned leader who can oversee the timely and accurate processing of all payments, vendor invoices, and expense reports. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring payables policies and procedures for efficiency, compliance, and control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payments, vendor invoices, and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and implement payables policies and procedures for efficiency, compliance, and control.
  • Lead and manage the accounts payable team, including hiring, training, goal setting, and ongoing development.
  • Review and approve invoices; ensure adherence to company policies, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and reconciliations; oversee month-end and year-end closing processes for payables.
  • Optimize payables processes, automation, and risk prevention controls.
  • Analyze and report on payables metrics: aging, cash flow, forecasts, and performance.
  • Coordinate with procurement, treasury, and accounting teams to ensure alignment and timely payments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of accounts payable experience with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Strong expertise in payables processes, team leadership, and compliance management.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
