Responsibilities:

- Execute fieldwork & testing of core responsibilities across all areas of laws – AML, Privacy, Anti-corruption, Consumer Protection & Fairness, etc.

- Design and implement overall testing programs with strong risk assessment skills during alignment stages (issue classification & reporting)

- Provide regular and timely dialogue and communication on the progress of work and potential findings to the Manager Compliance Team

- Independently lead conversations with senior stakeholders (Directors, VPs, etc.) during kick offs, testing, and issue alignment discussions with minimal managerial support.

- Train and mentor colleagues in upskilling themselves with relevant knowledge and practices for plan delivery.

- Work with leadership in various strategic initiatives to improve the overall delivery model and contribute/participate in presentations to senior leaders.

- Develop remediation plans to address findings in collaboration with business teams.

- Detect and identify emerging regulatory risks or impending legislation impacting the Compliance Monitoring Plan from time to time.

- Exemplify strength in the American Express Leadership Model: set agendas, bring others along, and do things right, prioritizing enterprise thinking.

Minimum Qualifications:

- At least 6 years of relevant experience in internal audit, regulatory compliance within the Big Four or in a bank/financial institution with a preference for Anti-Money Laundering background.

- Good academic qualifications with experience in compliance or legal and Anti-Money Laundering knowledge would be beneficial.

- Chartered Accountants, CPAs, CIAs, ACAMS, MBAs, and individuals with certifications in audit are preferred.
