As a Principal Data Engineer, you will lead a team of Sr. Data Engineers and oversee the development of high-quality features.

Key responsibilities include proposing architecture, solving complex data modeling issues, interacting directly with clients for requirement gathering, building holistic roadmaps, identifying risks, and developing mitigation strategies.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in software development, focusing on backend and data engineering.

Hands-on experience with Python, JVM, and Shell Scripting is essential, along with production experience.

">

A strong understanding of Parquet, Delta Lake, and other OTFs file formats is required.

">

Proficiency in architecting and implementing workflow management systems, particularly Airflow, is necessary.

">

Observability system experience, such as Datadog or Prometheus/Grafana, is also required.

">

Candidates should be able to build CI/CD processes using tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins.

">

Soft skills such as leading a team of 4-5 Senior Engineers, client communication, and requirement gathering are essential.

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, focusing on backend and data engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, JVM, and Shell Scripting.
  • Production experience with cloud native data-intensive applications.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong understanding of Parquet, Delta Lake, and other OTFs file formats.
