Cloud Network Engineer Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in networking with hands-on work on cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.

  • Must have skills in provisioning and maintaining network systems including Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, and other network virtual appliances; strong understanding of local area networks, wide area networks, virtual private networks, VPCs/VNETs, network security groups, and protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, BGP, EIGRP, etc.
  • Proficient in cloud services including EC2 instances, Azure virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, S3/Blob Storage, Application Gateway, Elastic Load Balancer/Classic Load Balancer.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation; capable of setting up alerts, diagnosing network issues, and utilizing tools like Wireshark and firewall logs for analysis.

In addition to the technical requirements, the ideal candidate should be familiar with ITIL/IT Service Management processes and tools like ServiceNow; experienced in creating and maintaining operational documentation for issue resolution and knowledge transfer.

Bonus experience includes DDoS mitigation solutions, CLI tools for network appliances, and prior work in Life Sciences or regulated industries.

Education/Certification:

  • Degree level educated, preferably in Information Technology, science, mathematics, or engineering areas.
  • Network certification with Palo Alto such as PCNSA.
  • AWS Certified Cloud Professional or Azure Foundation certification at a minimum.
