We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our engineering team as the Head of Design and Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vacuum furnace design, engineering, and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate technical solutions and execution methods for sales offers and customer specifications
  • Size and cost technical offers with sales managers and pre-approve them
  • Monitor projects weekly and ensure proper technical support is provided to assembly/service teams and customers
  • Provide engineering management and technical analysis of projects including design, calculation, component specification, cost estimation, and technical service
  • Participate in conceptual design and development for innovative/upgraded solutions as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Interface with co-workers and customers during design, development, implementation, and delivery cycles associated with equipment build
  • Offer analytical problem-solving support to assembly factory/assembly lines for equipment fabrication/assembly/quality/tests, installation, and commissioning
  • Compile complete technical/design and administrative documentation for all customer accounts
  • Review engineering and design for future planning in line with company strategy plans
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor/Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics/Design
  • Design and analysis of mechanical/electrical structures/low/high/ultra-high vacuum systems
  • High Pressure Vessel design/construction
  • High Temperature Hot Zone design/construction
  • Heating Elements/Heat-Shield or Insulation design and construction
  • Heat Exchanger design/construction
  • Hot-zone support structure/Hearth bar design/construction
  • Knowledge about Heat treatment, brazing, carburizing, hardening, annealing, melting, etc.
  • Knowledge and application of various types of materials, surface and thermal treatments for low/high/ultra-high vacuum
  • Hands-on aptitude with standard design practices and manufacturing techniques
  • Advanced skills in 2D & 3D CAD software - preferably AutoCAD and Inventor or Solid Works
  • 3D design for vacuum chambers and systems
  • Knowledge and application of numerical modelling in solid mechanics
  • Thermal exchange calculation/Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Finite Element Method (FEM) and Thermo-mechanical simulations analysis
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, vacuum process systems, electrical components, and automation

They will be customer-focused, result-oriented, creative, and strategic thinkers who can identify problems, take proactive action, and deliver high-quality work on time.
