Senior Geospatial Developer Position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, create, and maintain custom geospatial applications and mapping solutions.
  • Analyze user requirements to develop and optimize workflows and tools using spatial technologies.
  • Integrate geographic information systems with various enterprise systems and APIs.
  • Design and implement scripts for data automation, analysis, and processing (Python/ArcPy).
  • Perform complex spatial analysis and modeling, as well as geoprocessing tasks.
  • Maintain and optimize spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, SQL Server with spatial extensions).
  • Create interactive maps, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as ArcGIS Online, QGIS, or Mapbox.
  • Conduct performance tuning, testing, and documentation of geospatial solutions.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for GIS-related issues and enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, such as computer science, geography, or spatial analytics.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in geospatial development and application.
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online).
  • Must have experience working with web-based GIS applications, JavaScript API version 4, and VertiGIS Studio Suite of tools.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or .NET for geospatial applications.
  • Experience with spatial databases: PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle Spatial.
  • Hands-on experience with FME, GDAL, or other ETL/data transformation tools.
  • Knowledge of web development frameworks and APIs (REST/SOAP).
  • Experience integrating GIS with other enterprise systems (ERP, CRM).
  • Familiarity with open-source GIS platforms (QGIS, GeoServer, MapServer) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in geospatial technologies (e.g., Esri Technical Certification).
  • Experience working with cloud GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS/Azure).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
