As a seasoned API Testing Professional, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of APIs.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and business analysts to understand API specifications and business requirements.
- Design detailed test strategies, plans, and scenarios for various APIs.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing of APIs.
- Validate RESTful and SOAP-based APIs, checking response formats, headers, status codes, and business logic.
- Execute API mocking and simulate downstream system responses.
- Design and develop automated API test scripts (ReadyAPI preferred; Postman, SoapUI, JMeter acceptable).
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify, log, track, and retest defects using tools like JIRA.
- Prepare and maintain test documentation including test cases, scripts, and summary reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years in API testing, with 3+ years in API development or related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, ReadyAPI).
- Knowledge of software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Strong understanding of HTTP, JSON, XML, OAuth2, JWT, API security standards.
