Zscaler Security Administrator Role

The Zscaler Security Administrator is responsible for administering and supporting Zscaler cloud security solutions. This role focuses on policy administration, system monitoring, documentation, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure secure connectivity.

This includes maintaining and updating Zscaler security policies, access controls, and authentication settings. The administrator will also continuously monitor Zscaler dashboards for alerts, anomalies, and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update Zscaler security policies, access controls, and authentication settings to ensure alignment with organizational standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Monitor Zscaler dashboards for alerts, anomalies, and performance metrics, and provide regular reports on threat activity, usage trends, and compliance status.
  • Provide user support for Zscaler-related issues, collaborate with IT teams to resolve connectivity, access, and policy-related problems, and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Maintain detailed documentation including configuration records, troubleshooting guides, network diagrams, and change logs, ensuring all updates follow change management protocols.
  • Participate in client meetings, status calls, and planning sessions, communicating technical updates, policy changes, and recommendations clearly and professionally.
  • Support client compliance initiatives by ensuring Zscaler configurations align with regulatory frameworks, and assist with audit preparation and evidence collection.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or any related field.
  • Minimum 4 years in IT security administration.
  • Hands-on experience managing Zscaler or similar cloud-based platforms is essential, preferably in a client-facing or MSSP environment.

Certifications and Technical Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX configuration and management.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, SSL/TLS, CA).
  • Knowledge of identity provisioning, and work experience in the same (e.g., Azure AD, SAML/SSO, MFA).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in US time zone and adapt to client needs.
