Operations Manager Job Description

The Operations Manager role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a data center facility. This includes managing critical situations to meet customer requirements, ensuring reliability and efficiency of DC operations, owning SOWs and SLAs, PPM, safety, DRs, audit readiness, certification follow-ups, compliance, space management, BCMS core field, electrical panels, HT 110/33KV /11KV, transformers, UPS, chillers, PAHU, PAC, AHU, STP, HSD, energy management, IBMS, and chiller plant management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead shift teams and ensure all planned and unplanned activities are executed within timelines with good communication.
  2. Track and close complaints within SLA deviations.
  3. Manage incidents and conduct RCA with recommendations on time, with periodic reviews of RCAs.
  4. Manage assets, warranties, AMC, lifecycle, and capacity management.
  5. Track and complete 5 PPM activities with TATs, OEMs, and ensure 100% availability of equipment.
  6. Manage vendors with RATs and TATs on complaints and ensure uptime of redundant equipment.
  7. Track and maintain records for all stocks as per BCP requirements.
  8. Coordinate with CE teams for customer-related queries and submit reports on time.
  9. Ensure 100% compliance with tracking of periodic trackers.
  10. Maintain physical security processes.
  11. Prepare risk assessments and periodical validations and updates based on incidents and RCAs.
  12. Update all inventories up to date with capacity vs accompany vs balance on monthly bases with customer details on rack inventory.
  13. Submit reports on time with agreed-upon timelines.
  14. Ensure 100% audits and compliance.
  15. Have knowledge in HSE.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 7+ years of progressive data center and/or critical facilities experience.
  • Proven relevant work experience in data center industry.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and hands-on experience in data center infrastructure.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
