Lead Cable Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Cable Designer with expertise in EHV and HV cable design to lead our team.

This is a full-time role that requires the candidate to have experience in technical review, cable design, and supply chain optimization.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Technical Review of Sourcing Requests: Conduct thorough reviews of sourcing requests from internal customers to ensure alignment with company requirements.
  • Cable Design: Design EHV and HV cables while considering factors such as wire screen/metal sheath size and conductor sizes.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Support internal customers in optimizing their sourcing requests based on Supply Chain Partner capabilities.
  • Customer Inquiries: Review cable inquiries from customers and convert them into cable sourcing requests.
  • Technical Clarifications: Perform technical clarifications with Supply Chain Partners to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Calculations: Perform short circuit calculations using Excel to determine required wire screen/metal sheath size and ampacity calculations using CYMCAP to define/verify conductor sizes.
  • Document Control: Check and accept technical data sheets from Supply Chain Partners and record prequalification and type test coverage of the cables offered by suppliers.
  • Quality Control: Prepare Quality Control Plan and ITP together with Supply Chain Partners to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Contract Preparation: Prepare the technical part of the contract and review Quality Records from suppliers.
  • Witnessing Tests: Witness in-process, routine, and sample tests.
  • Improvement Initiatives: Identify and drive improvements in the cable design process.
Key Requirements:
  • Education: Engineering degree preferably in the electrical field.
  • Experience: 4 years onwards.
