Role Summary

A fraud analyst plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of merchant transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine transactions processed by acquired merchants to detect potential anomalies.
  • Analyze merchant behavior to identify patterns and trends that may indicate fraudulent activity.
  • Verify documents submitted by merchants during escalations or observed fraud.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on identified risks and patterns.
  • Develop risk-based strategies for merchant monitoring based on observed trends.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging fraud trends and methods to prevent merchant fraud.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to concerned stakeholders.
  • Promote discussions with stakeholders on new requirements or enhanced surveillance.

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in risk analysis and monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of merchant acquiring, payment aggregator business, and UPI security.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, including filters, pivot tables, charts, and lookup functions.
  • Coding skills in SQL are beneficial.
  • Educational background in Engineering, Statistics, or Econometrics is preferred.
