Chief Technology Risk Officer

Job Description

The Chief Technology Risk Officer will be responsible for overseeing the Tech Risk function across Corporate Bank (CB) and Investment Bank (IB) front-to-back divisions at Deutsche Bank. This role sits within the Divisional Control Office (DCO) embedded in the Business, working closely with business line heads and other stakeholders to manage risk within appetite.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a team of technology risk professionals and driving initiatives to enhance maturity in Technology risk management.
  • Strong understanding of industry-wide risk landscape, global regulatory expectations, and leading engagement preparation.

Key Responsibilities

Managing a Team:

  1. Lead a team of 35+ members across all people-related subjects including hiring, identifying, and developing talent.
  2. Cultivate a change and risk-conscious mindset within the team.

Driving Understanding and Representation:

  1. Drive understanding and representation of IT& IS risks with business line heads across CB and IB front-to-back divisions.
  2. Work closely with Head of Tech Risk Governance to implement successful initiatives in India.

Global Stakeholders Management:

  1. Manage global stakeholders and prioritize delivery of DCO BOW from teams located in Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore.

Innovation and Efficiency:

  1. Lead innovation, efficiency initiatives & automation through use of Data Analytics or AI models.

Strategic Partnering:

  1. Be a strategic partner with Senior Leadership including DCO and business-aligned CIO divisions.

Management Transparency:

  1. Ensure management transparency by timely reporting and representing IT/IS risk types and remediation plans at divisional Non-financial Risk Council forums.

Front Office Technology Risk:

  1. Manage all aspects of Front Office Technology risk working closely with Risk leads in Technology divisions.
  2. Track Self-Identified Issues and Audit Findings.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Previous experience in similar Technology risk roles in a front office IB/CB division or IT audit (internal/external) in a cross-cultural and diverse operating environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry-wide risk landscape and global regulatory expectations.
  • Strong understanding of Industry best practices in Technology Risk Frameworks such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
