About the Role

The Music Content Manager is responsible for developing a comprehensive music strategy that showcases various genres and moods to specific audiences.

This includes defining the overall programming approach, creating editorial calendars for playlists, campaigns, seasons, and creator trends, and ensuring genre/mood/topic coverage aligns with business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a music content strategy that resonates with the target audience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective implementation of the music content strategy.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to inform data-driven decisions and optimize content offerings.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, consumer behavior, and emerging platforms to maintain a competitive edge.

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 4–6 years of experience in music content management, editorial curation, or content strategy at a music-tech company, DSP, media platform, or similar.
  • A strong understanding of music genres, moods, and social media use cases.
  • Proven ability to lead curation initiatives across multiple genres and formats, with a keen sense of music discovery and audience needs.
  • Comfortable working with data to make content decisions; experience interpreting dashboards or using tools like Mixpanel is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, campaigns, and curation calendars.
  • A strong global music sensibility with the ability to spot trends across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
