Job Description

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating project works contractors, maintaining project performance goals, and ensuring activities are sequenced in accordance with the project schedule.

Experience

Minimum 5-10 years of onsite experience on major projects under any sector: Infrastructure, Real Estate, Power, Steel, or Chemical. Involvement in at least 2 significant major projects similar in size and scope.

Qualifications

Postgraduate or graduate degree in an engineering discipline. Postgraduate degree/diploma in construction management (preferable).

  • Monitors overall job site health, safety, and environment performance and verifies that contractors protect their workers.
  • Responsible for construction supervision, contract administration, and contractor/subcontractor supervision.
  • Assists in coordinating design deliverables to support continuous and efficient construction.
  • Job site point of contact for all contractors.
  • Plans and chairs project safety meetings, assists with incident investigations and reporting.
  • Communicates deficiency and non-conformance management to the Construction Manager.
  • Assists with construction estimating, scheduling, reporting, cost control, measurement verification, and invoice certification.
  • Leads Bill Certification process, measurement of quantities, resolution of extra scope, change management, and Request for Information (RFI) management.
  • Acts as administrative spokesperson during absence of the Construction Manager.
  • Assists with development and review of construction-related information for proposals and business improvement activities.
  • Provides construction input for project constructability plans.
  • Tracks contractor asking rates, develops catch-up plans, and provides inputs for daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.
  • Assists in addressing site issues and developing remedy plans.
  • Covers handover policy between constructions and commissioning.
  • Ensures strict implementation of Project Safety Plan and Project Quality Plan.
